Robbie Diamond, CEO

Robbie Diamond, CEO of Aurora Builders, has been providing South Carolina with quality residential and commercial buildings and renovations since 2001.  In addition to her expertise and attention to detail, Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) status from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) sets Aurora Builders, and Robbie, apart from other builders in Charleston.  CGB designation is only awarded to the select few builders who graduate from the NAHB University of Housing Program.       

Prior to starting Aurora Builders in 2005, Robbie spent five years as a project manager for two residential builders in Charleston building homes ranging in value from $350,000 to $2,000,000.  While managing numerous projects on Kiawah Island, Robbie obtained her State of South Carolina Residential Builders License. Houses on the barrier islands of South Carolina require a much higher standard of engineering and building than other parts of the country because they must meet the rigorous seismic, hurricane and flood standards of the Residential Builders Code.  So, acquiring a State of South Carolina Residential Builders License requires serious commitment.

In addition to new construction, Robbie has engaged her love of South Carolina’s architectural history by restoring 5 historic Charleston homes ranging in age from 150 to 250 years old. 

Robbie has also continued to hone her expertise by attending numerous classes and seminars.  Her ongoing education has included such subjects as: proper uses of concrete, framing, building envelop science, and proper building techniques for better energy efficiency.  To provide the best solutions for her clients…and the world…Robbie  also attended the NAHB pilot seminar for green build standards.  Robbie and Aurora Builders are committed to incorporating the green building guidelines into custom homes, when appropriate, to create solid, beautiful and sustainable custom homes for their clients.

Recognized well beyond South Carolina, Robbie was recently selected to judge the 2007 Raleigh/Durham Builder’s Association Parade of Homes.  The Raleigh/Durham division of the National Association of Homebuilders Parade of Homes is one of the largest in the country with over 300 entrants with homes ranging up to $4,000,000.00. 

Before becoming a residential builder, Robbie was a practicing attorney for 12 years.  This qualification greatly enhances Robbie’s ability to protect her clients rights with suppliers and subcontractors.
